Bienvenue! Welcome!

Thanks for spending time with Louisiana Folk Roots. We hope you enjoy your visit. Below is a quick guide to our website.

The 2008 Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week was a tremendous success!
We hope you were able to join us at this truly unique event which took place April 18-25. The camp attracted registrants from as far away as Australia and Germany, and drew a record number of Louisianians to the week of special events, which began with a two-day festival and included five days of intensive classes and hands-on workshops.

Mark your calendars now for the 2009 Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week, April 17-24, at beautiful Chicot State Park near Ville Platte, in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. It promises to be another fantastic week of learning first-hand from Cajun and Creole masters of music, dance, language, cuisine, and culture. Nightly dances and late night jam sessions will add to the fun of this completely immersive experience. We sincerely hope to see you there!
