March 26, 2008: French Immersion at the DBCCHW!

back to News & Events

Si vouz avez l'envie de plonger dans la langue française de la Louisiane du sud, alors nous avons une occasion spéciale pour vous! If you want to dive into the French language of south Louisiana, then we have a special opportunity for you!

Preparations for our Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Week are coming along very well, and we're just about at capacity for this great camp at Chicot State Park. We're writing today to let you know about a new offering for full- and part-time participants at this year's camp: "Arrête pas le français!" This half-day adult-oriented French immersion program will run during the mornings of camp and involve a variety of field trips and learning activities with top local instructors.

If you're already registered for camp, please get in touch with us if you might like to spend your mornings with this rolling Cajun and Creole French mini-camp instead of your original choice. And if you're not yet registered for camp, we're offering this pilot program as a full- or part-time option. But space is limited, so please drop us a line at info @ lafolkroots.org  or give us a call at (337) 234-8360 if you'd like to take advantage of  this special first-time offering! The cost for the half-day program only (no lodging) is $350. If you wish to participate on a full-time basis at camp, then our regular camp pricing applies. Please check the DBCCHW page on this website for details.
